An important message from Fr. Lundberg about the historic Supreme Court decision
Dear Sacred Heart of Jesus family,
Today the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart is celebrated on the Feast of the Birth of Saint John the Baptist. In a sense, they overlap. This encounter is a moment of grace in which the hope for humanity is shared in an encounter which affirms mercy, compassion, and human dignity and redemption.
In their mothers’ wombs, the hope of the world encountered a waiting humanity. Beneath the watchful motherly hearts of the Immaculate Heart and Saint Elizabeth, the triumph of Love occurred. Yet it was only the beginning of sharing the Divine Mercy with a wounded humanity.
Today is the beginning of a new effort to serve women and the unborn. May we redouble our efforts to serve those in crisis and who are hurting. For 49 years, grassroots efforts have saved lives, donated funds, opened crisis pregnancy centers and worked to recognize and defend the weakest among us, moved by the tender grace of God.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, and Saint John the Baptist intervene for our nation and for us all.
In Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart,
Rev. Bjorn C. Lundberg
