Thank you , Winchester City Police!

In May of 2022, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church was informed of potential threats to the campus as a result of political activity around the nation. Winchester City Police were there for us with extra patrols and weekend coverage. During our Corpus Christi procession, more than 1,000 Catholics processed through the streets of Winchester. Winchester City Police were there for us to keep us safe. As Sacred Heart Academy explores new and better ways to make the school safer for students and staff, Winchester City Police are there for us with advice and innovative strategies.

Today, Fr. Bjorn Lundberg, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, presented Winchester City Police Chief Amanda Behan (center) with a signed card (and donuts!) in appreciation for the department’s outstanding support and presence. He also presented a check for $2,000 of parishioner donations to Caroline Barron (pictured left), director of The Frederick County/Winchester Law Enforcement Foundation.

We are grateful to our men and women in blue for keeping us safe in Winchester! #WinchesterPoliceDepartment
