Our Staff 

Understanding that our campers' summer experience is directly linked to their interaction with our staff, we hire engaging, fun and responsible young adults who exhibit a joyful love of Christ and desire to be positive role models in your children's lives.

The staff of Summer of Sacred Heart begins with Susan Netko, Director.  Mrs. Netko has over 25 years of dedicated service to the Catholic Church, serving as Religious Education Catechist, Assistant to the Director of Religious Education, Confirmation Coordinator, Catholic school teacher, and Catholic school principal.  Mrs. Netko is married to her husband, Duke, a retired Marine and Law Enforcement Officer, and is the mother of four married children and 12 grandchildren.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from George Mason University, A Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton, and a Master of Relgious Education from Loyola University, New Orleans.  Mrs. Netko is excited to bring this wonderful, faithful program to Sacred Heart.

Mr. Chris Ricketts is the Assistant Director of the Summer At Sacred Heart. Mr. Ricketts spent 8 years as a member of the U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, performing nationally and abroad. He moved to Winchester with his family in 2008 and became a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus. Mr. Ricketts brings a unique blend of military experience, retail management, teaching, and working in various ministries in the Catholic Church to the Summer at Sacred Heart program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Catholic Distance University. He is very excited to be a part of this exciting new adventure at Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Applications for staffing are available online.  Our staff must be passionate about God, faith, and Summer At Sacred Heart.  They must view their positions at SASH as a gift and service, and an opportunity to form community and grow in their own faith.

Each Summer At Sacred Heart staff member is subjected to a detailed hiring process, which includes a personal interview, fingerprinting, and background check.  Staff members will attend orientation and training, coupled with ongoing staff development throughout the summer.  

Our staff members will experience daily faith formation which offer the opportunity for development into lifelong, Christ-centered friendships.
