The Father Krempa Soup Kitchen and Bill Herlihy Mobile Food Pantry continue to grow to meet the increasing needs of the community. The donations received from Catholic Charities – which we have counted on throughout the COVID and post-pandemic time – have been dramatically decreased due to reduced contributions from supermarkets and other food outlets in the metropolitan DC area.
Inflation has taken the biggest toll on groceries, making it difficult for struggling families and individuals to meet even basic needs. The Soup Kitchen is able to continue to meet the never-ending demand, thanks to the outstanding support of the Sacred Heart parishioners.
