St. Pius X Choristers
The Schola Cantorum (school of singing) for youth at Sacred Heart Church answers the call from the Church for “the promotion of priestly and religious vocations, the formation of the next generation of lay leaders in liturgy and music, and the provision of an exemplary model of liturgical catechesis for Catholic schools.”
The St. Pius X Choristers is open to any girl who is between the ages of eight and twelve and to any boy between the ages of eight until their voice has changed. They will receive keyboard instruction, music theory, partake in choir rehearsal, and sing for the Holy Mass. An audition process lasting no longer than five minutes is conducted to for pitch matching ability and vocal range testing.
* Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 4:00PM to 5:30PM.
* Breaks for the summer after Memorial Day weekend.
* Rehearsals resume the second Wednesday after Labor Day.
* Sings at the 9:15AM & 11:15AM Mass (8x during the year).
