All are invited to All Hallows Eve Celebration on October 31st
CELEBRATE ALL HALLOWS EVE OCTOBER 31ST
Muldowney Hall, 5:30PM to 9:00PM
In the early Church, villagers would spend the night before All Saints Day preparing for a communal feast. On All Hallow’s Eve, folks would go from house to house gathering contributions for the village celebration to which all would be welcome. The following All Saints Day festivities would joyously celebrate those who lived lives of extraordinary virtue and passed on to their reward in Heaven.
All parishioners are invited to celebrate our All Hallow’s Eve begining with 5:30PM Mass of Anticipation for All Saints Day, followed by dinner and festivities in Muldowney Hall. BYOC (Bring Your Own Chili) and the parish will supply drinks, cornbread, salad, and ice cream.
Come as your favorite saint, join in fun games (St. Francis Animal Toss, St. George’s Dragon Kill, Knock off Goliath’s Head, St. Isidore’s Pumpkin Roll, Knock Down the Deadly Sins, St. Therese Rose Toss), get lots of candy, take hay rides, win prizes, stay warm by Fr. Lundberg’s bonfire, and celebrate saints and souls. (Bring flashlights for outdoor events.)
All parishioners are welcome. For details, contact Lisa Anthony-Price at lanthonyprice@sacredheartwinchester.org
